PHOTO: The "Week in Pictures" project of the Basilica News Agency celebrates 8 years and 400 editionstranslated

The "Week in Pictures" project of the Basilica News Agency marks a double anniversary this week: eight years since its launch and the publication of the 400th edition.

Initiated in July 2018, the project presents, every Monday, a selection of the most representative photos from the life of the Orthodox Church, taken in Romania and in other countries. From the great holidays and pilgrimages to moments of prayer, monastic life, missionary, cultural and philanthropic activities, the images make up a visual chronicle of contemporary Orthodoxy.

In the 400 editions published without interruption, "The Week in Pictures" brought together thousands of photos taken by the photojournalists of the Basilica Press Center, by collaborators from the dioceses of the Romanian Orthodox Church, as well as by photographers from other Orthodox Churches and press agencies.

The selections offer readers a broad perspective on the beauty of liturgical and community life in the Orthodox world.
