Eugeniu Carada, the founder of the BNR, will be honored by the institution with an anniversary banknotetranslated

Eugeniu Carada, the founder of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), will be honored by the institution 190 years after his birth with an anniversary banknote, which will be launched in the numismatic circuit on September 14.

The new issue has a nominal value of 100 lei and is printed on a polymer support, with dimensions identical to those of the banknote of the same value in circulation. The approved print run is 16,000 copies.

On the obverse is the portrait of Eugeniu Carada, accompanied by his signature and name, as well as the years "1836-1910". The composition also includes an image of the Hall of Counters in the Old Palace of the BNR, alongside specific elements of the institution, such as the logo of the National Bank and the coat of arms of Romania.

The reverse shows the Old Palace of the National Bank of Romania and the Council Hall, in a composition that brings together several graphic and security elements.

The issue benefits from a complex transparent window with multi-tone portrait and OVMI element, as well as other security features designed to prevent forgery.
