Children from the Ascension Cathedral in Naberezhnye Chelny gave the elderly a “Lesson of Kindness”translated

Prikhody.ru 10/08/2026. The celebration of wisdom and spiritual generosity in honor of the Day of the Elderly took place at the Rainbow Sunday school at the Ascension Cathedral in Naberezhnye Chelny (Tatarstan).

The children prepared gifts for the older generation with their own hands. For each sweet gift, the children lovingly attached cards and notes with the most touching wishes written from the bottom of their hearts: good health, spiritual peace, inexhaustible joy, good spirits and God’s help, reports the diocese website.

After the end of the Divine Liturgy, the students went out to meet elderly parishioners to present prepared souvenirs to their grandparents. In response, the elderly people gave the children words of gratitude and tears of joy.

“This sincere dialogue between generations has become living evidence that true respect and love for elders is cultivated not in words, but in concrete good deeds and heartfelt participation,” noted the organizers of the “Lesson of Kindness.”
