Children and teenagers of Zhlobin get acquainted with Orthodox traditionstranslated

During the summer holidays, young Zhlobin residents continue to get acquainted with the history, traditions and living experience of church life.
On August 2, pupils of the Rostock Sunday school of the Cathedral of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in the city of Zhlobin went to the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov. The children received Holy Communion of Christ, after which Priest Mikhail Markosyan gave them a tour. The priest spoke about the structure of the Orthodox church and the symbolism of its architecture. The children learned about the life of St. Seraphim of Sarov and about the shrines of the temple: the icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hear” and the relics of the Diveyevo saints. As a souvenir, each participant received an icon of St. Seraphim of Sarov as a gift. The meeting ended with a general tea party at the samovar.
On August 4, the Cathedral of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in Zhlobin was visited by pupils of the labor camp of gymnasium No. 8 in the city of Zhlobin. Archpriest Pavel Bondarchuk introduced the guests to the history of the temple, its shrines and spoke about the significance of the Orthodox church in the life of a Christian. The teenagers learned why the temple is called the house of God, became acquainted with the traditions of the Orthodox Church, and at the end of the excursion they lit candles and prayed for their relatives.…
