On November 4, on the day of celebration in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the Day of National Unity, a solemn service and a crowded religious procession took place in Ulyanovsk.

The Divine Liturgy in the Resurrection-Germanovsky Church was performed by Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky, Bishop of Melekessky and Cherdaklinsky Diodorus and Bishop of Baryshsky and Inzensky Alexander in the co-service of the clergy.

Then the archpastors led a religious procession from the Resurrection-Germanovsky Church to the Spaso-Ascension Cathedral with the Zhadovskaya Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, one of the main shrines of the Simbirsk land.
