On November 4, 2026, on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Patriarchal Assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. At the end of the service, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church addressed the believers with the First Hierarch’s word.

Your Eminences and Eminences! Dear fathers, brothers and sisters!

I cordially greet you all and congratulate you on this holiday—with your prayerful remembrance of the miracles that flowed and flow from the miraculous Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

We know that very important events in the history of our Fatherland are connected with this image - liberation from the Time of Troubles and from the Polish intervention. Our pious ancestors, who prayed before the holy Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, received a surprisingly strong and much-needed response from the Queen of Heaven. She heard their prayers and helped them. But this was the case not only in the distant past, but also in our time.
