The Romanian College of Dentists proposes that oral health be taught in high schoolstranslated

The College of Dentists in Romania (CMSR) proposes the introduction of oral health and the prevention of dental diseases in the curriculum for high school students, according to a press release.

The request has been submitted to the Ministry of Education and Research and seeks the explicit inclusion of these themes in the future educational contents, from the stage of developing the program.

CMSR's approach is supported by the results of the National Study on the state of oral health of Romanians. According to the data cited by the organization, 66.3% of children and adolescents up to the age of 17 have dental caries, while 35.2% have bleeding gums and 29.2% face dento-maxillary problems.

At the same time, dentists believe that the formation of correct hygiene and prevention skills from the school period can contribute to reducing the risk of oral diseases and their complications.
