What does it mean to participate in the Liturgy: a new topic of the “Key of Understanding” programtranslated

What does the word “Liturgy” mean and why is the main divine service of the Orthodox Church called “common work”? What is the role of clergy and laity in it, and can watching services on television or on the Internet be considered full participation? These questions will be the topic of a new episode of the Orthodox program “Key of Understanding” on radio “Gomel Plus”.

On September 23, the guest of the program will be Archpriest Alexander Lopushansky, rector of the Gomel church in honor of the Hieromartyr Alexy, Presbyter Lelchitsky.

The priest will talk about the meaning of the Divine Liturgy, its main parts and the sequence of worship. Special attention will be paid to what it means for the believer to participate in the Liturgy, what role clergy and laity play in common prayer, and how presence in church differs from watching or listening to a broadcast.

Listeners will be able to join the conversation, share their experience of the Liturgy, ask questions to the guest and leave comments during the live broadcast.
