The Kalogrea Monastery of Kalamatatranslated

The Holy Monastery of Saints Constantine and Helen known as Kalograyon Monastery is located in the center of Kalamata. The Monastery was founded in 1796 and has associated its name with the famous Kalamata scarf. Some of the large wooden looms are still in operation in the west wing of the monastery. Gerontissa Theodouly, abbess of the Kalogrea Monastery unfolds the wonderful history of the Monastery.
