Chelyabinsk is preparing to welcome the relics of Saint Matrona of Moscowtranslated

Having seen off the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky, the South Ural capital is awaiting a new spiritual holiday: on September 18 at 9:00 a particle of the relics of the blessed Matrona of Moscow will be delivered to the St. Simeon Cathedral. The shrine will be in the cathedral from September 18 to 29. These days the church is open to everyone from 8:00 to 20:00. In front of the ark with the relics of the blessed old woman, Liturgies and evening services, prayer services with the reading of the saint’s akathist will be continuously performed. Together with the blessed Matrona of Moscow, Chelyabinsk residents will celebrate the great holidays - the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (September 21), the transfer of the relics of the righteous Simeon of Verkhoturye (September 25) and the Exaltation of the Cross (September 27).
