The Elevation of the Holy Cross and Ordinations in the Diocese of Corfutranslated

On Monday, September 14, 2026, the day on which our Holy Church celebrates the Universal Exaltation of the Holy and Life-giving Cross, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, officiated and spoke at the Holy Pilgrimage Church of Agios Spyridon, in the city of Corfu.

During the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence performed the ordination of the Hierodeacon Fr. Palamas Melissinos as a Elder, as well as the ordination of the Monk as a Deacon, brothers of the historic Holy Monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos Platyteras, which has recently been re-staffed with new brothers.

Collaborating with His Eminence were the Professor of the Holy Monastery of Platyteras, His Eminence Archimandrite Chrysostomos Koutsouris, the Head of the Holy Pilgrimage, Protopresbyter Georgios Vlachos, the Deacons of His Eminence as well as clerics from the spiritual family of the ordained, who came to Corfu in order to share in the spiritual joy of the two young priests.
