Bucharest theology dean participates in world’s leading New Testament studies meeting

Fr. Cosmin Pricop, Dean of the “Patriarch Justinian” Faculty of Orthodox Theology at the University of Bucharest, participated in the 80th Annual Meeting of the Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas (SNTS), the world’s most prestigious international association dedicated to New Testament studies.
The meeting was held from July 28 to August 1 at Durham University in the United Kingdom under the presidency of Professor Adele Reinhartz of the University of Ottawa, Canada.
“During the anniversary meeting, seven plenary lectures were delivered, along with three presentations in each of the 18 thematic seminars devoted to various areas of New Testament scholarship, including textual criticism, the reception of apocryphal writings, papyrology, epigraphy and numismatics, and the relationship between Greek philosophy and early Christianity,” Fr. Pricop told Lumina Newspaper .
A member of the SNTS since 2017, Fr. Cosmin Daniel Pricop presented an academic response to a paper delivered during the seminar dedicated to the Johannine writings of the New Testament.
