On July 28, the entirety of the Russian Orthodox Church prayerfully celebrates the Day of the Baptism of Rus' - a memorable date marked by the acceptance of the Christian faith as the basis of spiritual and political life. On the same day, the memory of the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir, the Baptist of Rus', is celebrated, whose historical decision marked the beginning of a new era in the life of our people.
The Baptism of Rus' is an event that deeply transformed the internal appearance of the state, striving towards the truth of the Gospel. It was accomplished by the will of Prince Vladimir, who, transformed by the grace of God, established the Orthodox faith as the core of spiritual culture and public morality.
On July 28, 2026, on the day of remembrance of the Holy Blessed Prince Vladimir, His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Georgian Icon of the Mother of God in Gomel.
