More than three thousand children received school supplies thanks to the “Let's Get Your Child to School” campaigntranslated

With the blessing of Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk, the traditional charity event “Let’s get a child ready for school” was held in the Rostov-on-Don diocese from July 1 to September 7.

As a result of the campaign, 3,117 children received support. The total amount of donations collected was 4,532,277 rubles. Participants in the action included the parishes of fifteen deaneries of the Rostov-on-Don diocese, the Donskoy Starocherkassky Efremovsky Monastery, and the charitable organization “Mercy-on-Don Help Service.”

Since August 10, the Diocesan Center for Humanitarian Aid has been distributing stationery, clothing and shoes for schoolchildren. The assistance was addressed to large and low-income families, parents of children with disabilities, as well as refugees and internally displaced persons.

On August 31, 2025, in many parishes of the diocese, after a prayer service, at the beginning of the school year, children were given school kits: notebooks, pens, pencils, albums, rulers, paints. We thank each participant in the “Let’s Get Your Child to School” campaign.

Thanks to the support of caring residents of the region, public and commercial organizations, children are provided with everything they need to study and will be able to study with joy!
