The great church of the Deaconess Monastery in Bacău county was consecrated on Saturday. "When a church is built somewhere, we say that there is a gate of heaven," said Archbishop Joachim of Roman and Bacău.
His Eminence officiated the consecration service of the place of worship, together with Bishops Veniamin of Southern Bessarabia, Macarie of Northern Europe and Vicar Bishop Teofil Trotușanul of the Roman and Bacău Archdiocese.
The church is dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God, Saint Dionysius from Colciu and Saint Philotea from Argeș. The construction and consolidation of the new place of worship became necessary after landslides affected the monastic complex.
