The Academy Library will release the last three volumes of the "History of the Romanian Academy Library (1867-2025)" seriestranslated

The Library of the Romanian Academy will release on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the last three volumes of the "History of the Library of the Romanian Academy (1867-2025)" series.

In just five years, the project has become a remarkable historiographical construction: thirteen volumes that trace the evolution of the Library from 1867 to 2025, from the first donations and the beginnings of the collections to the transformation of the institution into a modern library, connected to the digital universe.

Gratitude "I thank, on behalf of the Romanian Academy, all those who thought, researched and wrote the thirteen volumes of this series and those who, for almost 160 years, built, day by day, the heritage that we can tell about today", said the acad. Marius Andruh, president of the Romanian Academy, in a statement published by Agerpres.

"Special thanks must go to the professor and director Nicolae Șt. Noica, honorary member of the Academy, who initiated and supervised this project! And one more thing: such a series can only be developed with love for the institution, with devotion and care for the treasures gathered since the Academy was founded until today."
