"The Christian family is rediscovering its vocation to be a light in contemporary society, a living testimony of Christ's love and the beginning of the Kingdom from the midst of the world," said Archbishop Athanasius of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
His Eminence participated on Tuesday in the first communications session of the International Theological Symposium "The Christian Family: Light and Witness in Contemporary Society", which takes place in Bucharest from October 5-8.
The Archbishop supported the work "The Christian Family in Diaspora: between existential fragility and ecclesial rebirth", in which he presented the perspectives of Romanian communities living outside the borders and how the Church becomes the place where they find fulfillment and the true meaning of life, especially in the family life.
"The perspective is theological and pastoral: it does not idealize the diaspora or reduce it to a sum of crises, but seeks to see how the Church can concretely accompany the family, so that uprooting does not become alienation, and integration does not mean forgetting".
