Archbishop of Albania celebrates the Divine Liturgy on All Saints Sunday

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, All Saints Sunday, Archbishop Ioannis of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Orthodox Church of Saint Gerasimos and All Saints in the Kombinat neighbourhood of Tirana.
Clergy and many faithful took part in the service. In his homily, Archbishop Ioannis spoke about the mystery of sanctification and the work of the Holy Spirit in human life, emphasizing that holiness is the fruit of God’s grace and of the human person’s cooperation with that grace.
He recalled that the Church celebrates All Saints immediately after Pentecost in order to witness that holy life is born from the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. The Archbishop also underlined the importance of humility, purification of the heart, and the witness of faith in daily life.
Commenting on the Gospel reading of the day, His Beatitude stressed that confessing Christ is not limited to words, but is expressed through deeds, personal example, and the bearing of the cross on the path toward the Resurrection.
After the Divine Liturgy, a procession with the icon took place, led by Archbishop Ioannis together with the clergy and faithful.
