Igumeni Bartolomej, i këshilluesi i Monastirit të Esphigmenou në Bjeshkët e Athos, konselebron me Metropolitin Epifani në Kijevpërkthyer

Më 12 korrik 2026, Arhimandriti Bartolomej, Igumeni i Monastirit të Esphigmenou në Bjeshkët e Athos, bashkë me broj të monastirit, konselebron Liturgjinë e Dytë me Metropolitin Epifani të Kijevit dhe të të gjithë Ukrainës në Kishën e Arkangjelit Mihail në Kijev.

Pas Liturgjisë së Dytë, Metropoliti Epifani priti igumenin dhe baballët e Atonit në Residencën Metropolitane, ku dy anët mbajtën një mbledhje të ngrohtë.

Gjatë mbledhjes, Primi i Kishës Ortodokse të Ukrainës shpreh dëshirën e tij të thellë për Arhimandritin Bartolomej dhe delegacionin e tij për të qenë në Kijev në këto kohë të vështirë për vendin.

Metropoliti Epifani theksoi rëndësinë e vizitës, duke theksuar se baballët e Atonit kishin marrë një mesazh shpirtëror duke udhëtuar në Ukrainë, pavarësisht frikave dhe vështirësive të luftës.

"Praninë juaj këtu ka sjellë gëzim të madh dhe ndihmë shpirtërore për shumë njerëz që janë testuar çdo ditë", tha Metropoliti Epifani.

Në përgjigje, Arhimandriti Bartolomej theksoi rëndësinë e dashurisë kristiane, duke cituar fjalët e Shkrimit: "Lubrimi i plotë shpëton nga frika."

It's good to see monks from Athos coming all the way to Kyiv. The quote from Archimandrite Bartholomew about perfect love casting out fear is spot on, especially with everything that's going on.

I agree, that Scripture quote really lands when you think about the long trip they made. Our parish prayer list still has several families from Ukraine on it, and hearing Athonite monks show up in person feels more concrete than another online statement. Have you followed Esphigmenou much before this?

The quote about perfect love casting out fear hits different when you remember these monks actually got on a plane and showed up instead of just sending a message. The Archangel Michael church makes sense — he's the one who fights the battles, after all. Those monks turning up in person instead of just posting about it does give the "perfect love casts out fear" line real weight. I've only seen Esphigmenou stand firm on the calendar and against the new union, so this visit surprised me too.
