The foundation stone of a new chapel intended for the Arad gendarmes was consecrated on Thursday by Archbishop Timotei of Arad and Patriarchal Vicar Bishop Varlaam Ploieșteanu, in the premises of the Arad County Gendarmerie Inspectorate in the town of Vladimiresti, located near the municipality.
"We give thanks to God that we can also raise a church to their desire and for the smooth running of all affairs, mirroring what is happening in the world and that order, peace and good understanding are needed," said His Eminence.
The Archbishop of Arad showed the cooperation that exists between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the structures of public order by "placing the foundation stone under the sign of the cross and the memory of those who died with the attachment to the duty they had".
For his part, the Most Reverend Father Varlaam Ploieșteanul conveyed the blessing of the Blessed Father Patriarch Daniel to the clergy, authorities and believers for the contribution made in the initiation of the project: "The presence of a church in the middle of a military unit is a great blessing".
