The program of events in Târgoviște dedicated to the celebration of Saint Hierarch Nifon was announcedtranslated

The Archdiocese of Târgoviste announced on Friday the program of events dedicated to Saint Hierarch Nifon, Patriarch of Constantinople.

Thousands of pilgrims are expected, between August 10 and 11, in Târgoviște, where they will be able to worship the relics of the protector of the diocese, as well as those of Saint Filofteia from Curtea de Argeș, brought on the occasion of the celebration.

The demonstrations will begin on Monday, August 10, at 5:00 p.m., with the Vespers service, held at the "Ascension" Metropolitan Cathedral.

At the end of the service, over 4,000 young people from the Archdiocese of Târgoviște will participate in the traditional pilgrimage through the historic center of the city.

In the same evening, His Eminence Father Nifon, Archbishop of Târgoviște, Honorary Metropolitan and Patriarchal Exarch, will award the students who achieved outstanding results at the county stage of the National Religion Olympiad and the National Interdisciplinary Olympiad "Romanian Culture and Spirituality", together with their coordinating teachers.

The day of honoring the saint Tuesday, August 11, on the day of the celebration of the Holy Hierarch Niphon, Patriarch of Constantinople, starting at 7:00, Matins and the Holy Liturgy will be celebrated.
