In the Vvedensky monastery of the city of Ivanovo, a meeting was held with the honorary citizen of the city of Ivanovo, famous public figure and philanthropist Count Pyotr Petrovich Sheremetev and his wife Huguette.

The distinguished guest was met at the holy gates by Abbess Maria (Perepecha) and the sisters of the monastery. Mother greeted the count and his wife.

The history of the church itself occupied a special place in the story: at the beginning of the 20th century, Count Sergei Dmitrievich Sheremetev donated land for its construction, and on June 20, 1907 (June 7, old style), Archbishop of Vladimir and Suzdal Nikolai (Nalimov) consecrated the main altar of the monastery. The majestic red brick church with elegant decor was immediately called the “Red Church” by Ivanovo residents - and they fell in love forever.

The current visit has become especially symbolic: the great-grandson of Count Sergei Dmitrievich Sheremetev, Count Pyotr Petrovich Sheremetev, visited the Vvedensky monastery, continuing the living historical connection of the Sheremetev family with the Ivanovo land.
