Lina Mendoni: The State invests practically in the protection of the unique heritage of Nikopolistranslated

The dynamics that the great archaeological site of Nikopolis is gaining, after the interventions of the State, was pointed out by the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni during the ceremony of the inauguration of the restoration, protection and promotion of its monuments. Mrs. Mendoni spoke about the integrated plan of the Ministry of Culture, in a space, with surviving monuments, outstanding examples of Roman and early Christian art, which make up a particularly important and multi-layered monumental ensemble, "which, fortunately, is preserved in a largely environmentally unscathed landscape", as it is protected by NATURA 2000 and the Ramsar Convention.

"In recent years, the Policy of the Ministry of Culture has been translated into a coherent and integrated program of protection, restoration and promotion of the archaeological site, for the implementation of which, combined resources and available financial tools are used", the minister emphasized and referred to the resources that were used.
