200 Years Since the Foundation of the Banat Parish Church: Each Pergola Bears a Name, Said Metropolitan Ioantranslated

The church "Fall of the Mother of God" in Aliosh, Timis County, celebrated this past Sunday the bicentennial of its foundation. The Most Reverend Father Ioan, Metropolitan of Banat, praised the work done at the parish church in recent years and a commemorative plaque dedicated to the bicentennial.

"Each pergola built here bears a name that will be gloriously remembered in the Kingdom of God," said the Most Reverend Father Ioan, Metropolitan of Banat, who blessed the recent works and a commemorative plaque evoking the sacrifice of the founders.

The hierarch exhorted the community members to keep alive the memory of those who built and adorned the church over generations.

During the Hierarchical Liturgy, the names of priests who have served in the Aliosh church for many years were mentioned, as well as the heroes of the locality.

The History of the Community The recent works included the restoration of the roof, paving the courtyard with marble, and waterproofing at the rectory and its annexes. Additionally, a funeral chapel was built with the support of the Mașloc Commune Council.
