On September 14, at the Resurrection Cathedral, Bishop John of Shuya and Teikovsky, co-served by the head of the Department for Education and Catechesis of the Shuya Diocese, Priest Maxim Masov, as well as the clergy of the Shuya Diocese, performed a prayer service for the beginning of the new school year at the Center for Training Church Specialists of the Shuya Diocese.

The center was created by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on July 14, 2018, the training program was approved by the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church. Over the years of the existence of the educational institution, a good tradition has developed when not only residents of the Ivanovo region enroll to study at the Center, but also applicants from other regions, even from Moscow. These are people of all ages - among them there are those who have taken monastic vows and lay people.

The training format at the Center makes it possible for a wide range of people to systematically study the fundamentals of theological disciplines. Not everyone reaches the end of the full cycle, which includes preparing a thesis and defending it before the qualification committee. But those who complete the full course receive a diploma in parish education.
