With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' and at the invitation of Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis, from September 25 to 29, the delegation visited the Zahlei-Baalbek and Beirut Metropolises of the Antiochian Orthodox Church, took part in the Sunday Divine Liturgy in the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Unexpected Joy” in the city Zahle and paid a visit to Metropolitan Elijah of Beirut. As part of the visit, meetings were held with Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Rai at his summer residence in the Diman monastery, Deputy Prime Minister of the Lebanese Government Tariq Mitri and Minister of Defense General Michel Minassa. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Lebanon Alexander Rudakov took part in the meetings. The delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church was accompanied by the representative of the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus', Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis, and the representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' to the Patriarchal Throne of Antioch, Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev).
