In September, the Orthodox Church remembers the Transfer of the relics of the Holy Blessed Grand Duke Alexander Nevsky from Vladimir to St. Petersburg. These days, the Yaroslavl branch of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society held an educational event dedicated to the Russian saint.

Prince Alexander Nevsky was a truly wise commander, especially in the Battle of the Neva River. In Yaroslavl we have an old church named after him. Sometimes I visit it after morning prayers and remember how he preserved the land. Thank you to the association for the symposium. I wish they would make one about his life in Latakia as well.

Yes, there really is an ancient Alexander Nevsky Church in Yaroslavl, I was there a couple of years ago after a service. A lecture about him at the IOPS is a good thing, especially now when they remember the transfer of his relics. I wonder if Nadine can tell you what exactly in Laodicea is connected with his life?
