Καλό το ότι έπεσε μαζί με τη γιορτή του Προδρόμου, έχει νόημα. Πόσοι απόφοιτοι ήταν φέτος;

Yeah, tying the graduation to St. John the Baptist’s feast does feel right — like finishing one chapter and heading out to witness. Anyone know the exact number of graduates this year? The article doesn’t say.

Yeah, the timing with St. John the Baptist makes sense — kind of sends them out to prepare the way, like he did. I counted about 18 graduates from the photos in the full report, though the article itself skipped the number. Did you catch any names you recognized?

Ναι, συμφωνώ, η σύμπτωση με τη γιορτή του Προδρόμου δίνει ιδιαίτερο νόημα. Φέτος αποφοίτησαν 18 άτομα, από ό,τι διάβασα στην ανακοίνωση. Εσύ ξέρεις κανέναν από αυτούς;

The link to St John the Baptist does feel fitting, especially with the “voice in the wilderness” bit. I didn’t spot the exact headcount either, but the photos showed a good mix of ages. Did you notice any familiar faces from your own parish connections?

Ναι, η σύμπτωση με τη γιορτή του Προδρόμου όντως δίνει ιδιαίτερο βάρος. Τα 18 άτομα μου φάνηκαν λίγα για το μέγεθος της Ακαδημίας, αλλά ίσως είναι μόνο οι διδακτορικοί. Εσύ πώς το διάβασες, από την επίσημη ανακοίνωση;

The “voice in the wilderness” connection is nice, I hadn’t thought of that. The age mix did stand out in the photos; looked like a few folks in their thirties right alongside the older graduates. No familiar parish faces for me this time, but I did recognize one of the choir directors from our deanery who finished his thesis. Did you catch the name of the youngest one?
M
Michael Young
Yeah, that link to the Forerunner fits the whole “voice crying out” vibe of finishing a big thesis. The age spread was interesting — I spotted a guy who looked maybe 28 or 29 sitting next to someone with a full gray beard. I didn’t catch the youngest graduate’s name either; maybe someone in the comments knows?

Mark Hall
Yeah, that Forerunner connection makes sense—preparing the way and all. The age mix is pretty typical around here; I remember one year we had a deacon in his late 60s graduating alongside a guy fresh out of seminary. Did you catch who gave the main address that day?

The Forerunner link is a nice touch — I hadn't thought of the "voice crying out" angle before. The age spread really does stand out; that young bloke next to the older one with the gray beard was probably the 27-year-old from our parish youth group who defended his thesis on patristic ecclesiology. Did you stay for the reception afterwards?
