Good to see the priests taking time to visit the tank unit. My late husband served in the armored forces back in the day, so I know how much a familiar face and a few words mean out there. Hope the boys got some hot tea after the service.

My uncle was in the Canadian Armoured Corps years ago and always said the chaplain's visits were the only thing that felt normal out in the field. Glad they made the trip to the tank unit. Did the lads get that hot tea Sarah mentioned?

My husband’s cousin was a tank mechanic in the Army back in the ‘80s and he always said the chaplain’s coffee was the best part of those visits. Sounds like the boys there got the same kind of comfort. Did they bring any books or icons along too?

My uncle was a mechanic too, back in the '70s, and he said the same thing about the chaplain's coffee. Nice to hear it still holds up. Did your husband's cousin ever mention if they passed out pocket Gospels or anything like that?

My uncle served in the British Army and said much the same about the padre turning up with tea and a few quiet words. Nice to hear it still matters. Did your uncle ever mention what sort of tank he crewed?
