On July 8, the day of remembrance of the holy faithful Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia of Murom, a solemn celebration of Orthodox married couples celebrating their anniversary of marriage this year was held in the Znamensky Cathedral of Kemerovo. 14 married couples from different cities and regions of the Kemerovo diocese, who had been married for 25 years or more, arrived at the main temple of Kuzbass. Anna ParkerThat's wonderful — 14 couples from all over the Kuzbass coming together like that. My own parents just hit their 40th last year, and seeing folks honored for 25, 30, even 50+ years always makes me think how much quiet work goes into a marriage. Glad the cathedral made a proper day of it for them.

Alexander WrightThat's a fine turnout—14 couples from across the Kuzbass, some marking 50 years and more. My wife and I will hit 42 this fall; we always say the real test comes after the first 25. Good to see the cathedral honoring them on the day of Peter and Fevronia.

Paul JohnsonMy folks just passed their 35th last spring, so I know that 25-year mark is where the real work kicks in. Nice to see 14 couples from all over the Kuzbass get honored right there in the cathedral on Peter and Fevronia’s day.

Basil YoungMy folks made it to 52 years before Mom passed, so I know those 25-plus marks aren't just numbers—they're built on plenty of ordinary days. Fourteen couples from all over Kuzbass showing up at the cathedral on Peter and Fevronia's day is a solid turnout. Good to see the Church making room for that.

Paul TaylorMy parents just hit their 40th this spring, and yeah, it really is the pile of ordinary Tuesdays that adds up. Nice to hear your folks got to 52 – did they have any small habit that helped them through the rough patches?
G
Grace KingMy folks always made sure to have one cup of tea together at the kitchen table every evening, no matter how tired they were. That quiet half-hour probably carried them through more rough patches than anything else. What about your parents — any little ritual like that?
E
Emma ParkerMy folks always prayed a short evening rule together before bed, even on the bad days. It wasn't fancy, just the Lord's Prayer and a few thanks. What about your parents — did they have something like that that stuck with them over 40 years?
J
James CampbellMy parents had something similar — every morning they'd sit on the back porch with coffee before the rest of us got up. Dad always said it kept them on the same page. Did your folks ever add a little treat to that evening tea, or was it just the quiet?
