On the day of the celebration of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, July 9, 2026, His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, led the Divine Liturgy at the Tikhvin Convent in Gomel.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were: Secretary of the Gomel Diocese Archpriest Georgiy Alampiev, Dean of the Zhlobin District Archpriest Alexey Smotritsky, Dean of the Gomel Diocese Monasteries Hegumen Theodorit (Zolotarev), Dean of the Buda-Koshelevsky District Archpriest Sergius Peshko, Dean of the Loyev District Priest Dimitri Chvarkov, dean of the Rogachev district priest Alexey Sergeev, chairman of the missionary department of the Gomel diocese priest Pavel Pereshchuk, chairman of the department of architecture and construction archpriest Georgy Tur, rectors of the parishes and clergy of the diocese.

During the service, Abbess Vera (Afonkina) prayed with the sisters of the Tikhvin Convent in Gomel, Abbess Ioanna (Yarets) with the sisters of the Assumption Convent in the village of Kazimirovo, and Abbess Archelaus (Novikova) with the sisters of the Ioanno-Kormyansky Convent.

Хорошо, что архиепископ Стефан приехал из Гомеля служить. Запомнился игумен Феодорит и отец Георгий Алампиев — их всегда видно на таких праздниках. А икона Тихвинская у сестёр действительно почитаемая, каждый год туда стараюсь хоть раз съездить.

Хорошо, что Стефан возглавил службу, всегда приятно видеть его в Тихвинском. Запомнился и Феодорит с Георгием Алампиевым, как Иван написал — они почти всегда на таких престольных. А игуменья Вера с сёстрами молодцы, каждый год икона у них собирает столько народу, я тоже стараюсь попасть.
