Prikhody.ru 09.09.2026. The attack on the Church of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky in Novorossiysk (Krasnodar Territory) was carried out by Ukrainian Armed Forces drones on the night of September 8-9. The roof and domes of the central part of the church were seriously damaged, and partly the glazing.
However, according to the head of Novorossiysk, Andrei Kravchenko, “despite the scale of the external destruction, the interior decoration was practically undamaged: all the icons survived, the walls and the altar received only spot damage.” At the same time, a commercial building in the adjacent territory was destroyed. A gas pipe was punctured by a direct hit - the emergency service promptly eliminated the burst.
Among the top priorities are dismantling the damaged dome to prevent the roof from collapsing, and clearing the surrounding area, which parishioners, volunteers and Cossacks have already begun.
The contractor is ready to begin restoration work. For now, the dismantled part and stained glass windows will be temporarily covered with film. New double-glazed windows have already been ordered.
