On July 18, on the second day of the VIII gathering of Sunday school students of the Lida diocese “ORTHODOXY IS MY FAITH,” which took place at the bishop’s compound in the village of Velichki, Lida district, participants were given training aimed at realizing responsibility for their speech and the importance of purity of language.

The event included several interactive tasks. Sunday school teacher at the Lida Church of All Saints, Tatyana Yukhnevich, invited participants to guess the dishes based on the description of the legend, write down words of wishes for each letter of a given word, politely address the interlocutor in various life situations, fill in the missing words in rhyming lines of poetry, and also collect the word by throwing a bag into the letters on the playing field. In addition, the guys explained the origin of the words “thank you”, “thank you”, “farewell”, “quarrel” and others.

Participants got acquainted with the history of the emergence of obscene language and learned about its destructive impact on a person’s spiritual and physical health, and on family relationships.

During the training, special attention was paid to the role of women and family in preserving the purity of the language and culture of communication. It is in the family that the foundations are laid...

Георгий КиселёвIt’s good that they talked about the family separately. In our house we always made sure that there were no swear words, especially when the children were small. Tatyana Yukhnevich is great, she came up with interesting tasks, especially about “thank you” and “thank you.”

We also try not to use rude words, even when my daughter went to school and picked it up from her classmates. But I wonder how you and your husband explained to your children why “thank you” is better than just “thank you”?
