On the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a university religious procession took place on the territory of DSTUtranslated

On September 27, 2026, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the Church of the Holy Martyr Tatiana at DSTU, together with the leadership of the Don State Technical University, organized the third university religious procession, which covered the territory of the university and the student park.

The procession began after the Divine Liturgy. It was headed by the rector of the Church of the Martyr Tatiana at DSTU, Priest Dionisy Sakovich.

Concelebrating with the rector were members of the Diocesan Missionary Group, blessed by Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk: Archpriest Sergiy Krasnikov, Priest Sergiy Lysy, Priest Pavel Dudoladov, Priest Viktor Vasin and Priest Evgeniy Miklashov.

The sermon on the sacramental verse was delivered by Igor Petrovsky, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov region and press secretary of the Head of the Don Metropolis.

The procession was attended by the rector of DSTU Besarion Meskhi, vice-rectors, teachers, university students, clergy, parishioners of the university church and the “Vinograd” youth choir.

The total number of participants was about 350 people.

At the end of the procession, Priest Dionysius Sakovich addressed words of gratitude to the university staff and...

Nice to read that the third Krestny chod has taken place again. What I particularly like is that the rector, Besarion Meshi, took part and there were almost 350 people there. Did the “Vinograd” youth choir sing again at the end?

I am glad that this is the third time we have held a religious procession at DSTU. It’s good that rector Besarion Meskhi himself went along with everyone, this is important for the students. And Igor Petrovsky’s sermon after the liturgy was probably remembered by many. I wonder if the youth choir “Vinograd” sang during the procession or at the end?

Yes, the rector walking with everyone sets a good example for the students. I also noticed the missionary group from the diocese was there in full — nice to see those familiar names like Fr. Sergiy Krasnikov and Fr. Pavel Dudoladov taking part. Did the “Vinograd” choir sing during the procession itself or only at the end?
