On July 6, 2026, on the day of the celebration in honor of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, Archbishop John of Magadan and Sinegorsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Convent in Magadan. Thanks for the article. The story he tells about St. Andrew the Bogoljubsky and how he brought the icon from Vyshgorod to Vladimir in 1155 always moves me – it shows how important the protection of the Virgin Mary was to our princes. May he also represent us here in Greece.

Thanks for the article. I especially like the part where it is mentioned how St. Andrew of Bogolubski transferred the icon from Vyshgorod to Vladimir in 1155 and how the Mother of God promised Her grace. I remember when I once heard in church about how the icon was guarded by Rus from the Tatars. May her intercession guard us here as well.

Yes, Alexander, you noted the part about St. Andrew of Bogolyubski and the transfer in 1155. I am also glad that the icon was guarded by Rus from the Tatars, as you say. I pray for us here in Prilep that the same grace will protect us, especially now that I am gardening in the yard.
