Thanks for the article. The story he tells about St. Andrew the Bogoljubsky and how he brought the icon from Vyshgorod to Vladimir in 1155 always moves me – it shows how important the protection of the Virgin Mary was to our princes. May he also represent us here in Greece.

Thanks for the article. I especially like the part where it is mentioned how St. Andrew of Bogolubski transferred the icon from Vyshgorod to Vladimir in 1155 and how the Mother of God promised Her grace. I remember when I once heard in church about how the icon was guarded by Rus from the Tatars. May her intercession guard us here as well.
