A summer Sunday school session opened at the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hear” in the village of Novosineglazovo

Over the course of two weeks, children, divided into three groups, will participate in master classes, quests, creative and educational activities together with senior mentors.

Every day begins with exercises and a morning prayer rule. Then the children will have tea, classes and a hot lunch.

The head of the Sunday school, Elena Chastova, and teacher Ekaterina Frolova, a member of the “Response” pedagogical detachment and a primary school teacher at school No. 144 in Chelyabinsk, are helping to organize the program.

Summer sessions at the church Sunday school are held annually. They help children spend their holidays profitably, combining relaxation, communication, creativity and spiritual education.

Sounds like a solid setup with the daily prayer rule, exercise, tea, and hot lunch. Good to see Elena Chastova and Ekaterina Frolova putting it together, especially with the “Otklik” team helping. Our parish could use a few ideas from this for next summer.

Our girls would love those morning prayer rules followed by charge and a hot lunch every day. Nice that Ekaterina Frolova from “Otklik” and school 144 is helping run it — sounds like the kind of practical setup that actually works for kids on break. We might borrow the three-squad idea for our own summer program next year.

Our boys are the same — they light up at the mention of hot lunch right after rule and exercises.
