On October 4, on the 18th Sunday after Pentecost, after the Exaltation, on the day of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoe led the Divine Liturgy in the Epiphany Cathedral in Polotsk.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were: Secretary of the Polotsk Diocese Archpriest Alexander Petlitsky, Priest Georgy Odynets, Priest John Gavrilchik, Deacon Gennady Dzichkovsky, Deacon John Kamenkov, Deacon Boris Marmuzevich.

The liturgical hymns were performed by the bishop's choir under the direction of Natalia Semashko.

After the special litany, Bishop Ignatius offered a prayer for the restoration of peace.

Following the prayer behind the pulpit, glorification and worship of the Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord was performed.

After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Ignatius and the concelebrating clergy performed a prayer service to Hieromartyr Konstantin Zhdanov, presbyter of Sharkovshchinsky.

Upon completion, the archpastor addressed the parishioners and clergy of the cathedral with a word of edification.

Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoe congratulated the participants on their reception of the Holy Mysteries of Christ and gave everyone the archpastoral blessing.

Thank God that on the dedication of the Exaltation, the Holy Cross was worshiped again. The prayer to the holy martyr Konstantin Zhdanov was especially memorable - we also honor the new martyrs in Kharkiv. I thank Bishop Ignatius for his words after the service.

Yes, Mary, the dedication of the Exaltation is always special when we carry the Cross again. In Kharkiv, we also pray to the new martyrs, and the prayer to St. Konstantin Zhdanov must have been very moving. And what word of Bishop Ignatius do you remember the most?
