The international festival “Slavic Literary Dozhinki” opened in Gomeltranslated

Literature preserves and conveys to people what constitutes the spiritual and cultural memory of the people, helps to talk about important life values and find mutual understanding between generations. The festival “Slavic Literary Dozhinki” is dedicated to this tradition, which has been uniting writers, poets and readers from Belarus and Russia for several years now.

The Gomel region hosts the XXI International Festival-Celebration “Slavic Literary Dozhinki”, the VIII Regional Festival of Literature, Culture and Folk Traditions “On the Land of Kirill of Turov” and the IX Forum of Young Writers “Slovo”. From September 1 to 4, creative meetings, literary events, exhibitions and other events are held in Gomel and the cities of the region.

The grand opening of the festival took place on September 2, 2026 at the City Culture Center. The ceremony was attended by His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin.

The chairman of the Gomel regional branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus, prose writer, publicist, playwright, honored cultural figure of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Gavrilovich addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
