A prayer service was held in Chechersk before the start of the school yeartranslated
On September 1, 2026, a prayer service was held in the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the city of Chechersk before the start of the school year. The service was led by the dean of the Chechersk district, Archpriest Gennady Khatkevich.
Schoolchildren and students, their parents and teachers prayed at the prayer service. The participants in the service asked the Lord for blessings and help in their upcoming academic work.
At the end of the prayer singing, Archpriest Gennady sprinkled holy water on those present and addressed those gathered with a pastoral word. The priest congratulated students and teachers on the start of the new school year, noting that mastering knowledge requires patience, diligence and discipline.
On this day, the parish tradition of supporting families in difficult life situations continued. Children from low-income families were given school supplies for the start of the new school year.
