The bit about the administrative meeting and the Divine Liturgy in the seminary chapel on September 2 caught my eye. It’s good they started the year that way, with the metropolitan there from the beginning. Our own school back-to-school liturgies always set a calmer tone for the kids too.

Here in Svidník, we would not even be able to properly present such a joint liturgy for the beginning of the school year in the seminary, but it looks nicely organized. The detail that Metropolitan Bartholomew served the holy liturgy that very day in the seminary church of St. Tichona, it's a good start. I wonder if the students still managed to ring the first school bell with the children after that.
