I didn't know St John had visited our area — 120 years ago is quite something. The icon from St Petersburg must have made a long trip to get here. I'll try to make it to the church this week to see it in person.

I also heard about that visit of Saint John in 1904, but I didn't know that he reached us in Priirtîșie. The icon brought from St. Petersburg seems to have traveled more than me fishing on Someș. I'm going to see her too, maybe next week after the factory shift.

Yeah, 1904 — that lines up with what I remember from the life of St John. The icon coming all the way from St Petersburg is something; our truck runs sometimes pass through there, so I know how far that haul is. I’ll swing by after the Wednesday Bible study and light a candle.
