Thanks for the tip. Has the protocol already been published? I would be interested to know if you talked about catechesis in schools.

Thanks for sharing. The protocol will probably be posted on the Patriarchate website soon, as always. It’s interesting if they talked about catechesis in schools - we also have problems with this in Kazan, teachers often don’t know where to start.

No, the protocol isn't out yet, as far as I know. At the last synod they only briefly touched on catechesis in schools, nothing more. Do you have a specific question about this, or are you waiting for something specific?

Александр Орлов
Yes, the protocol is usually posted quickly. We also have a problem with catechesis in schools in New York - teachers often simply retell brochures, without a living example. Did you try to start differently in Kazan?

Yes, the protocol is actually posted quite quickly. In our Sunday school in Krasnodar, it also often happens that children simply cram from books, and there is little living example. How exactly did they start differently in Kazan, I wonder?

No, I haven't seen the protocol yet either. At the last synod, catechesis in schools was really only touched upon. I found that a bit of a shame because many parents in our community have questions about exactly that. Are you waiting for a specific point from today's meeting?
M
Maria Müller
No, I'm especially waiting for the point about catechesis in schools, because we get exactly the same questions in the community as you do. It's a shame that last time it was only touched upon. Hopefully this time it will be in more detail in the minutes.

Hopefully there will be more this time, Maria. In our Hamburg community, parents are constantly asking how to convey the faith to their children without pressure. I look at the log right after lunch before I go into the garden.

Yes, the protocols are indeed posted quickly, usually within a couple of days. In Kazan, as far as I know, they started by instead of cramming, they simply began taking children to church for real services and entrusting them with helping - handing candles to one, singing with the choir to another. Have you in Krasnodar tried to somehow involve children in real parish life, or more and more according to textbooks?
H
Helena Schmidt
Yes, Maria, this is exactly what catechesis in schools is a big issue for us. Hopefully this time there will be more in the protocol about how you can pass on your faith to the children in a natural way, without it seeming like a lesson. Have you talked to teachers in your community about this?
