I wonder what exactly those "meetings of the Kyiv Patriarchate" consisted of? Did he just read sermons or participate in communal prayers? It seems to me that the service ban is a serious step, it should be explained to the parishioners in more detail.

A priest from Ternopil was banned from serving because of his participation in meetings of the Kyiv Patriarchate. It seems to me that this is correct. If he participated in their joint prayers, he can no longer serve in our Church, because it is not the same Church. Daryna, it is better to explain to the parishioners so that people do not get confused.

Father, what exactly were the "meetings" in Ternopil? If he was just giving a sermon at one of their events, the ban seems a bit cool. Parishioners have the right to know the details, not fragments of the news.

Tatiana, I also paid attention to this wording. If it was just sermons or prayers without any organizational decisions, then the ban really seems too harsh. And you, by chance, did not hear if there were any other specific moments, for example, the signing of some appeals or joint photos with the leadership of the CP? Parishioners really should know more than the headline.

I think you're right, Peter, if he participated in their services, he can no longer serve with us without clarifying himself well. But it seems to me that it would be good to explain clearly on the spot, in his parish in Ternopil, so that people are not left with questions. What do you think, have they already talked to the parishioners?

I think you are right, Peter, if he participated in the common prayers with them, he can no longer serve with us without a serious clarification. But it seems to me that it would be useful to explain to the priest himself why exactly it is forbidden, not just to tell him "you no longer serve". Have you heard if he tried to return to our Church?

I think yes, Maria, it would be good to explain directly in the parish, so that people are not left with half information. Here in Cluj, we once saw a similar situation and a meeting with the parishioners helped a lot. Have you heard if the priest has made any public statement so far?
