Emergency Situations Ministry employees prayed before the Burning Bush icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

On September 17, the day of the celebration of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Burning Bush”, a thanksgiving prayer service was held in the St. Sophia Cathedral in Samara with the participation of the leadership and personnel of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Samara Region. The service before the venerated image was performed by the assistant head of the department for interaction with the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies of the Samara diocese, Priest Mikhail Zhegalin. The prayer service was attended by leaders and employees of regional divisions of the emergency department. The image of the Mother of God “Burning Bush” is especially revered by firefighters and rescuers. In prayer before the shrine, they ask for the help and intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in their responsible and often risky service. At the end of the prayer service, Priest Mikhail Zhegalin blessed the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, sprinkled them with holy water and handed each of them the image of the Mother of God “The Burning Bush”.

The annual joint prayer on the day of the celebration of this icon has become a good tradition and important spiritual support for employees of the emergency department.
