The situation of persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church continues to worsen, – a representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.translated

In connection with the persecutions by Kyiv authorities, the situation for the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church continues to deteriorate. Abroad, there is still no full understanding of what is happening, as stated in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
– Unfortunately, a complete understanding among foreign audiences is still lacking. At the same time, the situation continues to worsen, – said Special Representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation on Ensuring Freedom of Religion, Mikhail Melikhov, speaking at the sidelines of the session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), as reported by RIA Novosti.
The representative of the Russian Ministry noted that in Russia, the problem of persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is well known and now it increasingly finds reflection in the public and media space of foreign countries, including Western ones, as well as on international platforms.
That is why, concluded Mikhail Melikhov, the Russian side proposed to discuss this issue at the sidelines of the 63rd session of the UNHRC.
