Save the Children Romania launches a program for parents dedicated to preventing risky situations in teenagers. Among these, the most common are alcohol and tobacco consumption, gambling, substances and online risks.
The initiative, entitled "Connected with my teenager", aims at the early recognition by family members of situations that can affect or endanger the safety and health of young people, proposing means of communication to solve age-related problems.
According to a press release, the first sessions for parents will be organized in the cities of Iasi and Craiova.
Worrying statistics According to the data provided by the organization, a percentage of 81% of Romanian teenagers have consumed alcohol at least once, compared to the European average of 73%. Of these, half of 15- to 16-year-olds have consumed in the past month.
