В этом году 26 августа по старому стилю как раз приходится на день памяти святого мученика Андрея Стратилата. Интересно, а Евангелие от Марка про «дом, разделившийся сам в себе» часто читают именно в такие дни? У меня всегда от этих слов мурашки, потому что сразу вспоминаю, как мы с мужем миримся после ссор на кухне.

I remember that Gospel hitting me the same way the first time our priest read it during the Liturgy for St. Andrew the Stratelates a few years back. The “house divided” line always makes me think twice about little arguments at home before they snowball. Thanks for pointing out the Old Calendar match this year, Тамара.

Так, Тамаро, саме на день святого Андрія Стратилата часто читають це Євангеліє. У мене теж ті слова про розділений дім завжди відгукуються, особливо коли в родині хтось починає сперечатися через дрібниці. А от цікаво, чи в новому календарі цей день теж так збігається?

That "house divided" part always stops me too, especially after a long shift when I'm tempted to snap at my husband over nothing. Funny how the same reading pops up on different feasts like that. Have you ever baked something special for St. Andrew's day?
