It is good that Father Boris went personally to bless the harvesters and tractors. In our parish, last year, they also lit the machines before the harvest, and people said they felt calmer. Let's hope that this year's harvest will be rich and without accidents.

It is good that Father Boris personally came and consecrated the equipment. Last year, after such a blessing, no one was injured in the fields, and the harvest was harvested without rain, which flooded everything. I hope that the harvesters will work smoothly in Dzerzhinsk as well.

Хорошо, что отец Борис лично приехал и освятил технику. У нас в прошлом году после такого же благословения на комбайнах никто не пострадал, и урожай собрали сухим. Надеюсь, и в Дзержинске всё пройдёт спокойно.

That's nice to hear about last year's safe harvest after the blessing. Our sewing circle ladies always say a good start sets the tone. Did they have a moleben at the fields too, or just the vehicles?

Yeah, the blessing on the machinery seemed to help — last year’s harvest came in clean with no major breakdowns. They did a short moleben right there in the field as well, not just the vehicles. Did your sewing circle ever bless the needles or the fabric before a big project?

In Voronezh, our priest also sprinkles the tractors before harvesting. I remember last year after such a consecration there was not a single breakdown, although the equipment was old. I wonder if in Dzerzhinsk they served a prayer service on the field or just blessed the equipment?

Yeah, starting with a blessing does seem to set a good tone, like your sewing ladies say. They did the moleben out in the field too, right by the first tractor. Has your group ever thought about blessing the whole workshop before a quilt drive or something?

Here in the Novosibirsk region, equipment is also often blessed before cleaning, and there are actually fewer breakdowns. In Dzerzhinsk, judging by the photo in the article, only the transport was blessed, there was no prayer service on the field itself. Does the priest in Voronezh do this every year or is it because of the mood of the farmers?

Yeah, that makes sense — a quick moleben in the field probably set the right tone for the whole crew. Our sewing circle hasn't done a formal blessing on the needles yet, but we always light a candle and say a short prayer before starting a big vestment project. Have you seen any other local farms ask for a tractor blessing this year?

Yeah, the moleben out in the field helped set things up nicely too. Our parish once blessed the fishing boats before the season started and we had a solid year without any net tears. Has your sewing circle ever done a little prayer over the finished quilts before donating them?

In the Yaroslavl region, we also bless combine harvesters before harvesting, and it’s true that equipment breaks down less often. But in Voronezh, it probably depends on how the priest and the farms come to an agreement. In Novosibirsk, do you serve a prayer service right on the field or just transport?

Yeah, a short prayer before big projects always seems to steady everyone. I remember last summer a farm just outside Brighton asked Father Michael to bless their combine—ended up being a pretty big gathering with coffee and pies after. Does your sewing circle have a favorite saint you pray to for that kind of work?
