My 8-year-old son, listening to parables from the Gospel, comes up with his own stories, which he talks about with great enthusiasm.

Kids come up with the best stuff. My daughter used to do the same at that age after we read the Gospel at bedtime – she'd turn the parables into stories about our backyard birds. What was your son's pigeon one about?

My youngest did that too, turning the sower parable into something with our tomato plants out back. What did your daughter make the backyard birds do in her versions? Mine's pigeon story was about them ignoring the smart speaker's "voice of God" commands and just following the old man scattering seeds instead.
