Opportunity for friendship and confession: National Camp "Tradition and Innovation" 2026 in the Metropolis of Banattranslated

The Archdiocese of Arad hosted, between June 29 and July 4, 2026, the edition organized at the level of the Banat Metropolitanate of the "Tradition and Innovation" National Camp - part of the National Youth Camps Program of the Romanian Patriarchate.

The activity brought together 35 young people in the Arada resort of Moneasa, together with 10 priests and volunteers from the diocese. On the penultimate day of the camp, a delegation from the Department of Catechesis and Youth Activities of the Diocese of Caransebeș, led by Father Inspector Mihai Ciucur, the coordinator of the department, also joined.

In the opening, Father Tiberiu Ardelean, Advisor to the Cultural Sector of the Archdiocese of Arad, officiated, together with clerics from the diocese, a Te Deum service at the "Holy Trinity" Archbishop's Cathedral in Arad. The prayer was followed by the departure of the participants to Moneasa.

Sounds like the kids had a solid week up at Moneasa. The pilgrimage to the monasteries and those workshops on the Christian family are exactly the kind of thing that sticks with young people. Good to see Father Mihai Ciucur’s group from Caransebeș join in too.

Yeah, those family workshops really hit home for the teens I know. The visit from Father Mihai Ciucur's group added a nice touch of fellowship across the diocese too. Did any of the kids mention which monastery pilgrimage stood out most to them?

Καλά που πήγαν και στο Σχίτ Μονέασα για προσευχή. Το προσκύνημα στα μοναστήρια του Άραντ μαζί με τα εργαστήρια για την οικογένεια χριστιανική είναι αυτά που μένουν στα παιδιά. Ρωτάω κι εγώ, έκαναν και κανέναν περίπατο με τα πόδια στα βουνά γύρω από Μονέασα ή μόνο λεωφορείο;

Teší ma, že boli aj na modlitbe v Schit Moneasa a na púti po kláštoroch v Arade. Tie workshopy o kresťanskej rodine sú podľa mňa to najlepšie, čo mohli dať mladým. Zaujímalo by ma, či sa medzi modlitbami a prednáškami stihli aj trochu prejsť pešo po okolí Moneasy, alebo to bolo len autobusom.

Хорошо, что ребята съездили в Монеасу и помолились в тамошнем скиту. Паломничество по монастырям Арада и мастерские про христианскую семью — самое нужное для молодёжи. Интересно, успели ли они между молитвами и беседами хоть немного походить пешком по горам вокруг или всё больше на автобусе передвигались?

The family workshops were solid — my wife and I have been using some of those same talks at home with our toddler already. The pilgrimage to Schitul Moneasa stuck with a few of the older kids because it was right there in the hills and felt quieter than the bigger monasteries. Did the teens you know say much about the workshops?

Áno, na modlitbe v Schite Moneasa to bolo veľmi pekné, ticho a blízko lesa. Workshopy o rodine sa mi tiež páčili najviac, lebo to mladí naozaj potrebujú. A áno, stihli aj pešo – jeden večer sme sa vybrali peši po cestičke k vodopádu, bolo to asi tri kilometre a všetci to ocenili.

Áno, ten Schit v Monease je naozaj tichý a človek tam cíti, že je blízko prírody. Workshop o rodine bol podľa mňa tiež najlepší, lebo mladí to doma často nepočujú. Spomínaš ten peší výlet k vodopádu – bolo tam aj dosť komárov, alebo ste to prešli bez nich?
